Joseph V. Maugeri, CFP®

Joseph V. Maugeri, CFP® joined CFP Board in 2011 and is the organization’s Managing Director for Corporate Relations.

Joe is a member of the Executive Leadership team and is responsible for Corporate Relations, Development and University Relations. In this role, he ensures good communications with financial services firms, CFP Board-registered academic programs, and other employers of CFP® professionals, in order to support and grow the number of CFP® professionals that can provide competent and ethical financial planning to the public. In addition, Joe works with firms, academic programs and advisors to raise awareness of the profession and to develop support for financial planning and CFP® certification, including the programs of CFP Board of Standards and CFP Board Center for Financial Planning.

Before joining CFP Board, Joe was a Vice President and head of the Professional Alliance program at Merrill Lynch; a Director at SEI Investments, Inc., leading its marketing and distribution support services; and worked for more than 13 years as a financial advisor at AXA Advisors, LLC.

He received his Bachelor of Arts from Temple University, an M.S. in Leadership Studies from Northeastern University and has completed Executive Education programs from the Wharton School of Business (Competitive Marketing Strategy) and the Harvard Kennedy School (Communications).
