CFP Board Career Center’s Inaugural Online Career Fair Offers Employers, Job Seekers an Opportunity for Real-Time Connections

August 25, 2016

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards’ (CFP Board) Career Center is offering CFP® professionals, financial planning students and others seeking employment in the financial planning profession an opportunity to meet with firms of all business models through its inaugural CFP Board Online Career Fair, September 13, 1-4pm ET.

“Attracting and developing the next generation of financial planners to replace the retiring workforce is critical, and it all starts with making meaningful connections between firms and those who are seeking financial planning positions in the industry,” said CFP Board Center for Financial Planning Executive Director Marilyn Mohrman-Gillis." The CFP Board Career Center is helping to make these connections every day, and the Career Fair is a natural extension of that work.”

The CFP Board Career Center is an initiative of the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning. The innovative cloud-based platform being utilized for the Career Fair will connect individuals directly with financial services organizations seeking new talent through one-on-one text-based and video chats. The event is free to job seekers, and employers are invited to participate for a fee. Those interested in signing up can visit www.CFP.net/CareerFair.

The CFP Board Career Center is a one-stop shop for both employers and job seekers. It contains job and internship listings, and useful career management content for financial advisors, providing helpful information and job opportunities to CFP® professionals and hopefuls at every stage of their career. The Career Center was launched in 2015 with Fidelity Institutional as the founding sponsor.

“The Career Fair is a unique opportunity for both job seekers and employers,” said Dr. Lisa Andrews, CFP Board Career Center Manager. “Firms can avoid the time and costs of traveling to an in-person career fair and recruit right from their desk, while those who are looking for a job in the financial services industry will have real-time access to firms right at their fingertips.”
