Sponsorship will support new research, scholarship program

The CFP Board Center for Financial Planning today announced that Envestnet will support its work to provide all Americans access to a diverse, competent and ethical financial planning workforce as a Founding Sponsor.

“Envestnet’s generous contribution will advance two key Center goals: expanding and diversifying the numbers of financial planners, and providing these financial planners with new research-based resources they need to serve their clients,” said Marilyn Mohrman-Gillis, Executive Director of the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning. “We are grateful to have Envestnet support the Center as a Founding Sponsor.”

Envestnet’s sponsorship will support a new research study exploring the impact of technology on client satisfaction and advisor productivity in financial planning. The research will add to the body of knowledge in the area of client psychology and have broad applicability to the financial planning profession.

Envestnet is also establishing a scholarship program that enables individuals who have demonstrated a financial need and/or are from underrepresented populations within the financial planning profession to pursue the education requirements for attaining CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

“All business sectors, including the financial planning profession, must continuously evolve in order to thrive. I applaud the Center for taking a leading role in this effort, and we feel it’s important for Envestnet to be a part of it,” said Jud Bergman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Envestnet. “We are pleased to support cutting-edge research that will have implications for both advisors and the clients they serve, as well as a scholarship program that will help prepare the next generation of CFP® professionals.”

Envestnet’s commitment supports the Center’s mission to create a more diverse and sustainable financial planning profession so that all Americans have access to competent and ethical financial planning. The Center is convening the profession in research-based initiatives to address the challenges facing the financial planning profession in the areas of workforce development, diversity, and the academic rigor of the discipline of financial planning.
