CFP® subject matter experts and test development specialists come together during Item Review Meetings to evaluate the quality of test questions for the CFP® Board exam. The purpose of Item Review Meetings are to ensure that each question accurately assesses a test-taker's knowledge of content related to the Principal Knowledge Topics.

During an Item Review Meeting, the participants review each question, one-by-one, discussing any potential issues or concerns. Participants consider factors such as the clarity of the question and the appropriateness of the response options. The goal is to reach a consensus on the final version of the item that will effectively assess the knowledge and skills of the exam takers.
